Payout policy

When seller funds clear, how they are paid out, and what can delay one.

Before anything is paid out

Identity verification must be complete before a seller can withdraw, whatever their balance shows. A seller may list and sell before verification is finished, but no money leaves until it is.

A seller must hold a verified payout method in their own name. Gain Arcade does not pay a third party on a seller's behalf.

A seller balance can only be paid to that same seller. It cannot be transferred to another user, spent on the marketplace, or topped up.

Clearing

Funds released from an order are not immediately withdrawable. They clear over a period that covers the window in which a card payment can still be charged back.

  • Most categories: 5 days
  • Top-ups: 45 days
  • An order flagged by our fraud checks: up to 21 additional days

The clearing period applies from the point an order's funds are released, not from the date of the order.

Withdrawals

Withdrawals are initiated by the seller, or follow a schedule the seller sets. Nothing is paid out automatically unless a schedule is configured.

The minimum withdrawal is $25, or the payout provider's own minimum where that is higher.

Available payout methods are shown on the seller's payouts page. Only methods we can actually deliver to are offered, and available methods may change.

A payout provider may onboard the seller, verify them separately, and hold their bank details, depending on the provider and the method. Gain Arcade stores a provider reference and a masked descriptor, never an account number.

When a payout is delayed or refused

Gain Arcade may reject or delay a payout where:

  • identity verification is incomplete or has expired;
  • the funds are still within a clearing period;
  • a dispute or chargeback is open on a related order;
  • the seller has an outstanding liability to Gain Arcade or to a buyer;
  • we reasonably suspect fraud or unauthorised activity;
  • a compliance or sanctions check has not completed, or has raised a concern;
  • the payment or payout provider requires the delay.

Where a payout is delayed for a reason within our control, we tell the seller why.

Returned and failed payouts

A payout returned by the receiving institution is credited back to the seller balance, less any fee the provider charged for the attempt.

A seller is responsible for the accuracy of their payout details. A payout sent to details the seller supplied incorrectly may not be recoverable.

Repeated failed payouts may result in a payout method being disabled until the seller re-verifies it.

Reserves

Gain Arcade may hold a reserve against future refunds, disputes, reversals or chargebacks, sized to the risk of the seller's category and history.

A reserve is the seller's money. It is released when the exposure it covers has passed.

Where a reserve is applied, the seller is told the amount and the reason.

Closing an account

Closing an account does not forfeit a balance. Funds already earned are paid to a verified payout method once any pending disputes, refunds, chargebacks or other liabilities are resolved.

Gain Arcade may retain an amount reasonably necessary to cover those liabilities before releasing the remainder.
