Messaging and community rules

How buyers and sellers are expected to talk to each other, and what is not allowed.

Keep it on the platform

Order communication happens in the order thread. That thread is the record a dispute is decided on, and a conversation moved elsewhere is a conversation we cannot arbitrate.

Asking a buyer to pay outside Gain Arcade, or moving an active order off-platform to avoid fees or protections, is grounds for removal.

Discussing something publicly available, or continuing a friendship formed here, is not what this rule is about. Moving a live transaction is.

How people are expected to behave

Harassment, threats, slurs, sexual content directed at another user, and abuse of any kind are not permitted.

Disagreement about an order is normal. Abuse is not, and a seller is not required to tolerate it to protect their rating.

Spam, unsolicited advertising, and repeated contact after someone has asked you to stop are not permitted.

Credentials and account access

Never send a password in a message thread where a service does not require it. Where a piloted service does require account access, share only what the listing states is needed.

A seller must not ask for payment details, a recovery email, or two-factor codes beyond what the service requires.

A buyer must not ask a seller to act on an account the buyer does not own.

Using what you learn here

Information obtained through the marketplace may be used only to fulfil the transaction it relates to.

It may not be used for unrelated marketing, may not be sold or published, and may not be used to contact someone outside the platform without their agreement.

Reviews and reputation

A review must reflect a real order. Manipulating reviews, trading reviews, creating fake transactions, or pressuring a buyer to change a review is grounds for removal.

A seller may respond to a review. A seller may not condition delivery, a refund, or support on the review being changed.

What we do about it

We read a thread when a dispute is opened, when it is reported, or where fraud prevention requires it. We do not read threads routinely.

Depending on what happened, we may warn, restrict messaging, suspend, or remove an account. Threats of violence and attempts at credential theft are removed immediately.
