Fee schedule
What buyers pay, what sellers pay, and when either can change.
What a buyer pays
A buyer pays the listed price plus a marketplace service fee of 3% of that price. Both are shown in full in the cart before checkout, and the total shown is the total charged. There is no separate flat charge.
The marketplace service fee is what the buyer pays for the marketplace itself: order management, dispute handling and seller verification. It is not a payment-processing surcharge and is not calculated from the cost of any payment method. It applies on the same terms whichever eligible payment method is used. It is separate from Gain Arcade's seller commission and is accounted for separately from it.
All prices and fees are in US dollars.
What a seller pays
Commission is charged on completed orders only. An order that is cancelled, refunded or decided for the buyer earns no commission, and commission already taken on a completed order is returned if that order is later refunded.
Commission is deducted from the seller's proceeds. It is not added to the buyer's total.
Current rates:
- Services, including boosting, carries and coaching: 6%
- In-game currency for Old School RuneScape, RuneScape 3 and World of Warcraft: 1.5%
- In-game currency for Lost Ark and New World: 3%
- Items: 3%
- Prepaid codes and gift cards: 0%
The rates published on the fees page are the rates charged. If the two ever disagree, the published rate applies to the order in question.
Seller level rebates
Seller level reduces the services rate. An Elite seller pays 5% rather than 6%.
Level rebates do not apply to the per-title currency and item rates, which are already set per game.
Level is earned from completed order history and is not purchasable.
Promotional rates
A founding-seller programme may reduce or waive commission for a limited number of sellers for a fixed period.
A promotional rate is temporary, is subject to the eligibility terms published with the promotion, and does not change the underlying published rate.
A promotional cap cannot raise a rate. Where a promotion offers a cap that is higher than the rate a seller already pays, the lower rate applies.
Payout fees
Payout fees are set by the payout provider and the method chosen, not by Gain Arcade. They are shown in full before a withdrawal is confirmed.
The minimum withdrawal is $25, or the provider's own minimum where that is higher.
Where a payout is returned or rejected by the receiving institution, any fee charged by the provider for the attempt may be deducted from the returned amount.
Holds and reserves
Gain Arcade may hold funds or establish a reserve against future refunds, disputes, reversals or chargebacks. A hold is not a fee: the money remains the seller's and is released when the reason for the hold ends.
The circumstances in which funds are held are set out in the payout policy and the chargeback policy.
Changing these fees
We may change published fees on 30 days' notice. A change applies to listings created after it takes effect, so an order placed against an existing listing is charged at the rate that listing carried.
Notice is given through the platform and by email to affected sellers.
A change to the buyer marketplace service fee takes effect for checkouts after the change and is always shown before payment. An order already placed keeps the fees that applied when it was placed.
