Prepaid code and gift card policy
How codes are delivered, when they can be refunded, and what proof is needed.
What we are and are not
Gain Arcade is not the issuer of any code sold on the marketplace. Codes are supplied by independent sellers.
A code's value, expiry and redemption terms are set by whoever issued it. Gain Arcade cannot extend, reissue or honour a code itself.
What a listing must state
Every code listing must state the region it is valid in, the currency, the platform or service it redeems against, the denomination, any expiry, and any material redemption restriction.
Region is the single most common cause of a failed redemption. A code valid only in one region must say so.
Delivery and reveal
Codes are held encrypted until the order is delivered. Only the last four characters are ever displayed before reveal.
Revealing a code is a deliberate action taken by the buyer on the order page, and it is timestamped. That timestamp is the delivery evidence for the order.
Every access to a stored code is logged.
Refunds before reveal
A code is fully refundable at any time before it is revealed. The buyer does not need a reason.
Refunds after reveal
Once revealed, a code is refundable only if it does not work. That means:
- the code is dead or has already been redeemed;
- the code is locked to a region other than the one advertised;
- the code does not match the denomination or platform advertised.
A code that was revealed, redeemed and then returned is not refundable. There is nothing to return.
A buyer reporting a failed code should do so promptly. We check the reveal timestamp against the report, and a code revealed and reported within the redemption window is a straightforward buyer win.
Proof
A buyer reporting a code that does not work should provide the error the issuer gave, and where the issuer states a reason, a screenshot of it.
Where a dispute is decided for the buyer, the code is voided in our records so it cannot be resold.
A seller who repeatedly supplies invalid codes is removed from the category.
Codes a seller may not list
A seller may not list a code that is stolen, previously redeemed, fraudulently obtained, invalid, or acquired in breach of the issuer's terms.
Listing such a code is prohibited activity and results in removal and return of the funds to the buyer. Where a seller knowingly lists a code they know to be invalid or unlawfully obtained, we treat that as fraudulent conduct.
